The Sucky Sisterhood Podcast: Interviews with Miscarriage and Infant Loss Survivors

Slaying the Stigma with Natasha Smith

Natasha Smith Season 2 Episode 19

If you've ever wondered where grief, science and faith intersect, Natasha Smith is someone you need to meet. On today's podcast, we learn how God is guiding her healing journey, through trauma and loss. Natasha talks about stuffing her pain down inside for almost 20 years and how bringing the hurt and pain into the light of a safe community helped to process her suffering. We discuss how the power of presence, not advice or opinions, is sometimes what's needed most in helping another grieving person. You'll also get a peek inside her upcoming book that connects grief, brain science, academic research, and faith with tangible ways that you can process your own grief. Natasha’s book will be released by Intervarsity Press in summer 2023.

Natasha Smith is a wife, mom of 4, an engineer turned homeschooler, writer, speaker, and podcast host. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling with a focus in theology and psychology from Liberty University. Jesus and coffee are her favorites, and she shares biblical hope for every season daily across social media @imnatashasmith.
